"The comments on ecological status and indications about rarity are, as far as I know, unique to his book. No other proponents of herbalism seem to be aware of this aspect of humans and their environments....this is the excellent product that we have come to expect from Moore. This delightful and informative book should be on the bookshelves of anyone interested in plants and people. Thanks for sharing with us Michael!"
(Daniel F. Austin, Ph.D, ECONOMIC BOTANY)

First published in 1947 and long out of print,
I was pleased to have the chance to annotate and update this seminal
work on the traditional home remedies of the Spanish Southwest.
Working with the publisher Jim Mafchir (we have worked together
on all five of these books) and the illustrator Mimi Kamp, this
book gave me the chance to edit Mrs. Curtin-Paloheimo's landmark
text, add personal observations (I sold remedios for 15
years in Northern New Mexico), update the botanical nomenclature,
add references, a glossary of local Spanish terms, and generally
render this classic work more practical for current usage.
248 pages, 87 line drawings, notes, bibliographies, remedy and general indices.
ISBN 1-889921-07-7 paper $14.95 US
In this Keats Good Herb Guide, I examine the physiology
of the kidneys, the patterns of stress that alter their function,
the underlying metabolic causes of urinary tract disorders, and
explain how they can be managed with prevention, proper diet and
the judicious use of some simple and safe herbs.

WELL, LIFT UP YOU HEAD (Tarah-Tarah), etc.*), these all may be ordered online from eherbsplus.com, unless you forgot the subject of this sentence.

A concise approach to defining constitutional
imbalances by evaluating organ systems, patterns of stress, and
imbalances in fluid transport, discussing those herbs that will
strengthen any deficient functions, and explaining their physiologic
effects. The purpose of this manual is to outline a method of
using herbs to strengthen the person, NOT to treat their disease...a
sensible, wholistic way to use herbs as adjuncts to a primary
practice, and not simply as safer alternatives to drugs. A sample
patient questionaire, formula worksheet and record form are included.
There are 13 pages of graphs that provide a metabolic profile
for over 400 widely used herbs, showing their primary and secondary
effects on organ systems and on neuro-endocrine functions. Evaluating
these overt and covert effects can both prevent unwanted synergies,
and define iatrogenic potential from professional or OTC herb
formulas. 56 pages, 8 1/2 X 11, spiral bound.
